When you release something you were certain you needed into the water, do not roll.
Describe what you release. Describe it as though it were a physical object - its weight, the specific way it caught the light. Place it on the table if you have something that will serve.
Now roll +what remains.
The GM - who is also you, tonight - will tell you what the water does with it. The water does not waste things.
