When you act in a way that your reputation demands but your survival does not, roll +wyrd.
On a hit, the act is witnessed and remembered. Gain Renown.
On a 7-9, gain Renown, but the GM introduces a consequence that moves as slowly and as certainly as fate. Mark a step on the Doom track.
When your Doom track is full, you do not die from bad rolls. You die from the story catching up to you. The GM will have been preparing.
On a miss, the act is witnessed and remembered but something necessary was spent in the doing of it. Gain Renown. Mark two steps on the Doom track. Describe what it cost you that no one watching could see.
